Our Story

We are a small, dedicated team of coffee enthusiasts based in the heart of Essex, united by a simple belief: exceptional coffee starts with respect for the land, the farmers, and the craft. Since our founding in 2014, we have been on a mission to source and roast the finest organic coffees whilst building lasting, ethical relationships with growers across Africa and South America.

Our journey began when our founder, a former agronomist with a passion for sustainable agriculture, travelled to Ethiopia and witnessed firsthand the dedication of smallholder farmers cultivating coffee using traditional, chemical-free methods. Inspired by their commitment to quality and environmental stewardship, we set out to create a company that would honour their work by bringing these exceptional beans to coffee lovers throughout the UK.

Every coffee we offer is certified organic by the Soil Association, guaranteeing it has been grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilisers. But for us, organic certification is just the beginning. We go further by establishing direct trade relationships that ensure farmers receive fair prices well above commodity market rates. This enables them to invest in their farms, support their families, and continue producing outstanding coffee year after year.

Our roastery in Hornchurch is where science meets artistry. Using state-of-the-art equipment and traditional small-batch techniques, our master roasters carefully develop each coffee's unique flavour profile. We roast to order, ensuring that every bag we send out is as fresh as possible. Temperature curves are meticulously controlled, and every batch is cupped multiple times to guarantee consistency and quality.

Sustainability extends beyond the farm to every aspect of our operations. Our packaging is 100% recyclable and compostable, made from plant-based materials that protect freshness without harming the environment. We offset carbon emissions from our delivery fleet and support reforestation initiatives in coffee-growing regions.
